Using the order number field

There are a lot of tricks you can employ to assist you in finding jobs when use labels in the order number. Because jobs list searches order number you can use this field to identify various jobs you need to find quickly.

Examples:

1. Using a month and year allows you to filter all jobs that need to be done/looked at next in a certain month (rather than by complete by date).
"Dec22" for example will bring up all jobs you need to look at in December 2022.

2. Related to a project: Insert the project ID in the order number so that no matter what customer you are billing for a project you can view it. This is useful in things like new housing where you are working for a home builder but also do work for the customer directly.

3. Additional to work type - once you have work types set up you might want to also do sub-types. You can do this in the order number instead of creating lots of work types.
